Linux Foundation Training part 2

Linux Foundation Training part 2

So, ooking at the Linux Foundation (LF) certificate journey. It seems they recommend learners start with The LF Certified IT Associate.

I have dropped a copy of A4 (2 sided) certificate journey in to Paignton Library and information centre, so as of today 27/8, this is displayed in the Community Hub area, which is pretty much straight ahead as you enter the building.

It should be possible for people to undertake the course, but I also dropped in a flyer for the LUG, so any potential learners can perhaps join the Linux User Group and perhaps discuss with other learners outside of any provided course forums.

Hopefully this gives the LUG some postive exposure.

I am making this post as it will hopefully help people who come to the LUG from that display in the library (but may be equally useful to others).

Back when the LUG first started there was not that much in the way of formal training courses, (at least compared to now, 2025) Since then everything has become a lot easier to use, there are now formal training and certification programmes etc. So as a result Linux user groups still have their place, either as more social or just chat and support other users in their use. However, back then I found the LUG to be an essential and very useful and supportive community and hope we can continue to grow and adapt to new needs.

The displaying of this poster is a personnel effort and not on behalf of the Linux user group, but I feel that having the LUG poster up also gives the group some exposure with no actual obligation to sign up.

Just hope the information is useful.
