Hi Tom, yes it is a USB keyboard. I am not sure what you mean by a
'normal' keyboard. Many moons ago, of course, I had a very different
port for the keyboard, but that is so long ago that I have forgotten
what it was.

I will look up about a USB to normal adaptor to see what that is all
about. I thought USB's worked everywhere nowadays.

Further to the above, I have had a look at adaptors and it all seems to be about mini to normal size, or male to female or type c to type 3 or some such. I don't think you meant any of those???

I'm quite surprised to see it on the, if I'm honest. USB is everywhere, so having a BIOS that doesn't see a USB keyboard seems a little strange in today's world.

It is possible that the keyboard isn't responding quick enough. I've had a few (usually cheap and nasty) USB wireless keyboards - you know the ones with the little 2.4GHz dongle - that won't work for a good 15-20s on power up.

If you happen to have another USB keyboard lying around, I'd try that before going and buying a USB-to-PS2 adapter.

Grant.
