If by this you mean that I should keep my broadband provider separate
from my web host  then I have always done that. It has never occurred
to me to have the same company provide both.

When I had to change to a new web host last year, because the old one
had decided to discontinue the service, I had no problems at all. The
broadband simply continued and I had no interruptions at all.
