Following up my own post - A friend of mine has been doing a lot of stuff with the Arduino and buys most stuff from cool components. He uses them for fun and in the "day job" (Astrophysics boffin at Exeter Uny)

That looks interesting, running a web server on the thing. I like the fact it's all fairly cheap too.

I did find one guy who had attached a Linksys WRT54G router to a radio controlled car, added a webcam and wrote a small app (in VB6 sadly) to control the car over the internet. The router was running OpenWRT and I dare say it would be possible to write some similar software for Linux. Not sure if that used the Arduino kit though, it did mention it on the site.
