If you need help please ask on IRC see our irc page for how to connect. Either that Join our e-mail mailing list or follow us on Twitter @DCGLUG. The DCGLUG List is pretty active if you would like a somewhat quieter experience then feel free to join the Exeter Linux user group, we share a common IRC channel (as Exeter is in Devon anyway)
The Exeter lug is more active in terms of advocacy and has dynamic meetings, so any input, ideas for talks, events etc are very welcome indeed.
INTERNET SAFETY
Not quite free software related but there are opportunities for young people to advocate internet safety to other young people this not only helps you learn new skills, teach others but looks great on a CV too.
childnet run networkers soi if you are interested please get in touch with childnet.
OTHER ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO
Run codeclub at your local primary school and hang out on #codeclub on freenode to chat with others.
Get involved with young people and promote all this sort of stuff to them and promote the idea to get people programming we need access to the tools so ANY public comptuer needs to have scratch for example imagine if every library computer had scratch and even better scratch and kids ruby. It could really start to change thing. Link to young people involved in promoting programing such as scarabcoder. Young people may feel more comfortable communicating with people their own age. Follow people such as Ryan Walmsley He created the raspberry pi tracker and was involved in the RaspPithon back in 2012,
There are lots of ideas,
