Hello stinga,

(I have done some further reading and I don;t think this is the best
idea, in fact using dmo is not a good idea full stop <sigh>)
I've read the same, but....

To a less than expert eye it looks like deb-multimedia.org is a great
idea but in practice it results in some serious fun.
....I've personally never had issues with DMO. Yes, 'fun' can be had
whilst using it. On the Debian Users' mailing list, if certain ppl get
wind of the fact that one uses DMO they simply will not help - 'you've
made your bed....' sort of thing.

It works here, YMMV.

Since I don't currently have dmo as a repo what happens when I do a
According to your original post, you do (I quote):

root@legato:~# apt update
Hit:1 http://www.deb-multimedia.org stretch InRelease
I did, I deleted it!!!
dist upgrade? What happens to the dmo packages...
That depends:

May not get changed because epoch no. of DMO version is still higher
than version no. in regular Debian.
May be upgraded because epoch no. is lower than version no. of Debian
version.
May be uninstalled.
May land you in dependency hell with a system that can't be updated.
May all go smoothly.

No idea which is most likely - you'll have to wait and see. Sorry.
Very reassuring! :-)

My plan is to remove the dmo repo, remove all the dmo packages, do a dist upgrade and fix what fails.
It will have to wait until I am closer the machine in case something breaks. (Don't want it to go fubar and then the radio station go off air!, That would be less than good)
I do want to to do a dist upgrade anyway, so since ZM is working I will leave it alone.
I have ZM running on buster elsewhere without dmo so must be OK.
