What I should say is I know nothing about Windows since Windows 98 which I used for a year, then moved over to Linux. (For a time I did provide computer training in Windows, back in the early days. And I wrote a lot of databases for small companies too. But I guess things have changed.) > > Time to pirate a copy of Windows and register for your free legitimate > upgrade to Win10 on July 29th then obviously. Why would I do that? I have no interest in anything to do with Windows any more. I went along with DOS and then Windows until 1999 and then moved over to early versions of Linux and haven't touched Windows since. Being retired I have no need to and no wish to. Props to the guy who recommended Irfanview on Wine - got there just before I did. Any image editing or processing I do whatsoever is done via Irfanview either > natively on Windows or on Linux via Wine. I can do the things I want on on GIMP and don't mind finding out how to do anything new to me if the need arises. > > "since I know nothing about Windows they have no choice." > > Well, except to maybe learn for themselves perhaps? Using Windows > isn't exactly what you might call complicated... No I suppose not, and as I said my daughter uses it at work so she must know it well. Her husband also has Windows on his laptop come to think of it. I had forgotten that.
