My daughter has a fairly new camera. Yesterday she tried to send me an email with some of her pictures. She does not know about scaling an image prior to sending it as an attachment. There were some problems! I use GIMP for any photo editing, but I think that is far too big a program for her to use. So I am looking for a simple photo editing program. I have had a look around and have installed LightZone as a first try to see how that works out. Not sure yet. Does anyone have any recommendations for a simple photo editing program which I could set up on her computer? Really just to make sure that any attachments are not too big. Thanks, Neil
Hi Neil,I know what you mean about GIMP being a bit overpowered for the task, but in terms of what she needs to do with it it's fairly simple; Image -> Scale Image, enter dimensions, then Scale Image which as a GIMP user you know of course. As with most programs I think that regardless of how complex it is we all just learn the bits we need as and when we have to. GIMP of course has the benefit of being available on Windows and Linux, so if she get stuck she can just ask you for help. It also means that if she does need/want to do anything more in future she won't have to learn to use a new program.
