Having zero experience of something means you may make incorrect
assumptions/judgements.  That doesn't mean they're silly.

No doubt you've heard stories of (usually elderly) people being taught
how to 'do' email.  What they actually do goes something like this;

1 Start the email software
2 Write the message
3 Print out the message
4 Put it in an envelope
5 Address envelope and afix postage stamp
6 Post message

The tale may well be apocryphal, but it illustrates a point:-

 You draw on past experience to assist you.
 Past experience may not always be beneficial.
 We learn from our mistakes.
