Hoisted by your own petard there - PaleMoon is not Firefox, it's barely even a pale* imitation of it. Same goes for WaterFox and other misguided Firefox hackjobs. Why do people keep using that crap?

* did you see what I did there :] Yes, got it.

So, instead of using Palemoon crap I should be using Firefox crap??!!

Well, it is installed, automatically upon installation, but I still don't like it. And chromium is even more horrible.

Each to their own,

I don't mean to be harsh but rather than defending bad choices why don't you do some basic research on why people shouldn't be using these horrid derivatives and then justify why you should keep using them to yourself. Not to me or anyone else, just rationally re-evaluate if PaleMoon genuinely does provide any of the advantages you think it does. I do this frequently with software stuff I've grown accidentally attached or used to and quite often realise I've been making poor decisions and adjust accordingly.

Looked at objectively in the cold light of day there is nothing to recommend PaleMoon over Firefox. Don't take my word for it, research.

If your opinion is different afterwards then fair enough, but I'd love to hear a legitimate reason. And no "mah stupid dangerous outdated crappy legacy addons" is not a legitimate reason.

PaleMoon is entirely a derivative product of Firefox and is a lesser subset of, but not equal to, Firefox. So yes, PaleMoon is Firefox obviously by definition: just a crappy broken version of it. In short you're already using Firefox, just the worst possible variant of it so your argument doesn't make any sense.

Also apologies if this seems really combative in tone, I'm really not having a pop or trying to start an argument.

Software is important and friends don't let friends use stupid crap if at all possible - Simon was just politely reminding people that Jitsi is perhaps a better choice than the dreaded proprietary conference software for example.

To seasoned IT vets PaleMoon is one of those head-slapping "why the hell have you done that to yourself?" sort of things that just doesn't make sense. Notice how none of us are using it, that should tell you a lot...
