They DO learn about e-safety, mostly this is how to stay safe online,
being careful who you chat to, not sharing personal information. Also it
is a requirement to learn about keeping your personal reputation safe.

Ofsted are increasingly checking up on this.

Bullying is a big issue for schools, children, young people and
families, no longer confined to school this carries on after school. So
for some kids there is no escape, and I think saying turn off your
device is not the answer,

Children and young people want to be safe they have told people this, it
is just these platforms don't seem to put safety above profits.

I would suggest people watch videos on this (both of these were part of
recent e-safety training courses I attended).

Is privacy just about tracking or what is / should it be about what
happens to that information once collected, where / how is it stored,?,
who has access to it ? What is being done with it? why is it being
collected?, how long for?.

Even last year there were stories of data breaches where it was found
passwords are stored in plaintext, surely that is a privacy issue, we
need to discuss with young people to empower them to hold service
providers to account.

Surely we need to have this conversation with young people so they can
be empowered to help hold providers to account.
