Debian packages are however easier to manage from a provider perspective, since it depends on the right versions of Perl modules required to run it, and there is a clear procedure for security updates and upgrades. > I know it's possible to > install missing modules locally, but I want something that doesn't > depend on the fact that I happen to know my way around Perl. Knowing your way around Perl includes making sure you have the right dependencies :) I've just (today) switched a Perl project to using locallib precisely to maintain better control over those dependencies. In most cases I'd have thought this sort of thing best done using a small virtual server. It still makes sense to use locallib or one of the other Perl solution to tie up all Perl dependencies as one configurable object if you can't use packages for all the dependencies you need. -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq
