For the avoidance of confusion: Microsoft never invented anything. Nothing. Not one thing. Not even MS-DOS. Nothing. It's not what Microsoft does. It's not what Microsoft is for. Microsoft is not for making novel things, or high-quality things, or bargain-value things, or fast things, or safe things, or robust things. Microsoft is for making money out of other people's superior products and ideas with their own inferior me-too products by ruthlessly using Microsoft's wealth, size and incumbency, putting the real innovators out of business whenever possible, and locking them out otherwise. They have been convicted of this crime against their customers/victims in a court of law.
