Sorry, I was inexplicit;  I know how/why they arise, but seeing it
in /boot looked odd (to me) so I wanted know if there was anything in
there.

So have I (got /boot on a separate partition), on three machines, but no
l+f.  Here, lost+found exists under / with another l&f under /home for
userland stuff.
