lost+found?!  What's in there?  Hopefully, nothing.  Also, do you really
need three kernels?  Especially as one is "trunk".

Have you looked in to http://www.supergrubdisk.org/ this may be a tool that helps?

I was just installing Linux Mint 8 on a Dual core PC with a sata disk  and looked in the grub.cfg and noticed that there is a "customization section at the end of the file although at the start it says "Don't Edit this file"?
