About 1" of snow here in Broadhempston, and I think that fell last night

We had a about 2 cm overnight but the main problem is the lane to the main road at Hatt gets run-off from the fields and is permanently wet - or in this case permanently icy. Given the frost hollow here (it was -11 C the other night) the road hasn't thawed for days, the gritting doesn't get this far. I can go up in the truck bit it's getting back that's real fun....
I'm just back from a trip to Exmouth from Buckfastleigh - came back via Newton Abbot as I had a dentist appointment. All the main roads are as clear as a clear thing - the worst bit of road was the car park in Brunel Ind. Est in Newton Abbot where the dentist is, but even the main roads through the estate were clear.

Just cancelled an appointment on the moor near Mortonhampstead though!

No exccuse for some of the muppetry driving I saw though. One car on it's side on the road into Exmouth...

Was it ever thus - what is it about folk in 4wd cars that makes them think that the sticker on the back means they can defy the laws of physics ? Had a Saab 95 once that had a freewheel dog clutch thingy for snow and ice - worked like a dream, also had the best heater of any car I've had - funny that.

Safe travel everyone, or even better stay indoors....
