[LUG] Scottish firm pays out £120,000 over unlicensed software

Hi folks,

Just seen this on The Register...

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/12/16/scots_software_payout/

One word.... OUCH!

£12,000 per computer!

Good knows what they were running.

This is exactly the reason that I've been pushing Open Source alternatives.

I know a few companies that if they were caught out like this then it
would ruin them (luckily for their sake they're legit).

I do wonder though what powers the BSA actually have got, I mean, do
they have powers so they can actually enter a premises?

Rob
