I've just had another thought.  Where does this £120,000 go?  Do the 
copyright or IP owners of the software get it, or does the BSA retain 
it?  If the latter, how exactly does that help software houses?  They 
still don't get revenue from their software, and the BSA get a lot of 
money for what is basically 'following up on tip-offs and applying for 
warrants'.  I'm sure their outlay in this case would have been less than 
£120,000.  If the money is split proportionately between the 
manufacturers of the software found to be unlicensed, then that would be 
the preferable outcome, with as I mentioned before, some money for the 
BSA for doing the job.
