Re: [LUG] GNU/Linux Promotion & Meeting - room hire rates

The beesley suite at torbay leisure centre is about £16 / hour.

Going swimming later this week, so will try and make enquiries. regarding internet access in this room and use in general. I think with schools is may be best if we know people who work in them and ask them, that really help How long are we looking at for room hire, I would guess something like

We need time to set up before / after. The leisure centre has faclilities e.g cafe, bar, toilets, etc, as well as a soft play area for the under 5's which could be useful. Don't for get car park charges @ 85p an hour, I think thats about £5 all day. not sure (Tom probably knows more about car park charges).

I had to modify the url to
http://www.torbay.gov.uk/bookingratesforpublicrooms-halls.pdf

Seems a bit pricey to book the Town Hall. Depending on how many people
we'd expect to come, maybe a venue with low cost/free parking would be
good. Although the Town Hall is easy enough to get to being in the town
centre, the parking charges might put some people off.

Other ideas I can think of for possible venues are English Rivera Centre
(most probably expensive), a large school (maybe free?), or church halls?
