Hi I was having problems getting my network to start at boot. Thank you Alex, Grant and Simon for your advice. Having read your advice it appeared to me that the name was perhaps the problem (whats in a name), so I opened my wizard, made a note of all the settings for eth0:1, deleted it, and started again (which created eth0 ) with identical settings. It now works, thanks, I will now reread your mail and try and reason out why!
