Quoting Grant Sewell <dclug@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>:
If you're in the Plymouth area, then "The Computer Shop" (technically Cobourg Street, but the entrance is around the back) often have a few SCSI cards in their £1 bargain buckets. Once I came away with about 3 old cards... 1 was an 8bit ISA card (never tried to get it to work), one was a PCI card with DB25 external connector (turned out it was dead) and the third... well, I can't quite figure it out. Seems like an upside-down PCI card with a slightly longer than normal PCB. MCA perhaps?
I've found in the past computer fairs are great, could pick up something like the Adaptec AHA-2940 for around £5. In the past for cables from old centronics to the smaller 50 pin connections I've gone to the likes of Misco, they aint cheap, about £35. I think I might have found a suitable cable here: http://www.misco.co.uk/productinformation/24875/WW/BELKIN_SCSI_II_(MINI_50) _TO_50_PIN_CENTRONICS_M_3M/index.htm I'm sure it could be found cheaper on E-Bay though. Just looking again, have found this one on Dabs at a more reasonable £14, although it is shorter... http://www.dabs.com/uk/channels/hardware/cablesconnectorsandadaptors/productVie w.htm?quicklinx=236Z Hope this helps.
