The issue here is how complex the environment is to build a simple database application.
I'm guessing once you get the hang of it, this is a pretty good way of replacing Access. But I haven't found a "HOW TO" that takes you from "zero" to "productive", and you'll really want a distro with "apt" or something similar.
I've just about got from "zero" to a full Gnome application - although just as I was getting the hang of glade-perl I realised I was on the old version of Glade. The lack of a Gnome "About" dialogue box object was a dead give away....
Anyway I dare say I'd get there quicker if someone who does Gnome applications shows me how.
I have some very basic Gnome questions - but perhaps a new thread for those.
