Re: [LUG] Slides to prints

I have been having a clear out of my study at home. Bad idea. I have come across a lot of 35mm slides that I had forgotten about. Of course, I no longer have a projector. So I thought, there must be a way to get these onto my computer so that I can print them or store them as photos.

So, I have had a look around the internet, and, as usual, finished up very confused. It seems there are two possibilities, send them off to be processed by a specialist lab, or buy a special scanner meant for slides.

The former comes very expensive for a lot of slices. The latter, well, there are so many slice scanners for sale, and they all have varying reviews, good and bad.

So, my question is, does anyone on the list have any experience with this? Suggestions, recommendations gratefully accepted,

When my very ancient scanned died (used when I worked from home a  lot on documents) I bought a modern version.

Both work Ok but limited to about 6 slides per scan run in holder.
Both worked on colour (35mm slides) and black and white film (Box Browne) some from 1920s.

Present scanner Circa 2016 is Epson Perfection V370 Photo, works ok but slow; works on Linux (download software)  and Windows.
Old scanner Circa 2000 was Epson Perfection Perfection 2400 Photo. It worked very well in Windows and was used in Linux   approx 2014-2016. As work docs were all in Windows MS software I used it mostly in Windows.

Main problem is slowness to load, scan, check as it is manual.
