Re: [LUG] Email service

Bytemark still do Symbiosis, currently awaiting the Stretch release.

They've moved all their projects to GitHubÂhttps://github.com/BytemarkHosting/symbiosis

I'm really impressed with Symbiosis, as it's quick and easy to use and ultimately all you need is an FTP client.Â

I did initially have to wrestle with the firewall so that WordPress could do it's updates but a quick search on the Bytemark forum and I was up and running, nice thing as well is I can just drop their support team an email if I'm having a problem like I did with DNS back along and they solved it pretty quickly.

Part of me would be tempted to migrate from Google over to the mail server built into Symbiosis but I've always found Linux spam detection such as SpamAssassin to be terrible and it's also another thing to go wrong, least with Google it's there and that's it.

Are Bytemark still doing those bits Mr Kemp sorted for them, where you basically create a folder with the right domain name and it is either web server or mail server for the domain, and then a folder for each email username. It was all pretty bomb proof.

They continue to impress in terms of availability etc. Those I recommended them too still sing their praises.

I believe Steve even went back at one point but not seen or heard much since he became a dad except the odd baby photo.
