Totally agree with everything you say, but I'm not just sad, I'm scared.Â

If Microsoft aren't class-action sued into bankruptcy because of this - they've won, and everyone else who thinks of customers purely in dollar signs has won.Â

I think collectively we're in quite a lot of trouble now. Windows 10
wasn't a shot across the bows, it was a major, major escalation. The
internet's been created and ruined in my lifetime for god's sake.

Well, no. Parts of the internet, yes. People's trust, yes. It's a joke that nobody reads T&Cs but that joke has become sour.Â

Recounting these revelations aloud make someone sound like a tin-foil wearing nutjob, yet they're real - and that's without the data risks in a central controller, and without the knowledge that the American government has access to this information and has publically said that they use it against non-americans. (And the implication of government funded espionage to favour american companies cannot be ignored too)

But what can we do? Struggle a bit, moan a bit. The job's done though, isn't it?

(BTW - Win 8.x and Win7 also have had tracking data installed silently of late - seeÂhttp://techne.alaya.net/?p=12499 and others)
