I write very rarely in this mailgroup now (used to be more regular contributor), because I know the likely outcome of my posts ... HOWEVER .....

I would also like to add my thanks and appreciation to Paul for his efforts and to Gordon for providing hosting (FREE OF CHARGE). Thanks also to DanS, Mark Evans and Raymond who turn up regularly to the Pi Jams even though they have relied on Public Transport to get them to the Paignton Jams, which anyone who lives in Devon will know is quite a feet on a "normal" day yet alone when coastline railways get battered to death by winter storms.

It is a pity there are not others willing to step up and put in as much effort as these people have (especially Paul). And I know its been particularly tough for Paul, constantly asking for help and getting rebuffed in the mail group (shame on you). How Paul has kept his sanity, strength and dignity over these past years, I have no idea, but it is a credit to his good nature that he struggles on.

We all feel that its important to nurture the next generation of computer scientists, but sadly I could not recommend any under 18 to join this group for fear of what they would get in reply to perfectly innocent questions. You have to have a thick skin and a strong stomach to post anything here, (and I have neither in enough quantity).

If it where not for Paul, I would not be regularly attending Pi Jams and doing what I can to help and contribute, I would have given up in frustration at the lack of support from this community. In fact I would have probably cancelled my subscription to this very mail group forum as well.

Yours

Tom.
