Doesn't work like that. They get sentenced according to which crime(s) they've been found guilty of. Just because the perp was found guilty of stabbing someone, doesn't mean they're guilty of carrying a knife. It could have been found at the scene, having been dropped by somebody else. Even if they had been carrying it, there's no reason to suppose that they automatically get five years for that offense and the balance is what they got for the stabbing.
