BTW I'm on a 60Mb Virgin connection too so I don't have the ADSL issues to deal with but as Rob says obviously contention is an issue, albeit I live in a fairly quiet lane without many Internet hogs around - except me of course! :) Julian
Anyway, I have decided that a lot of my problems are caused by contention issues. My only comment is that this has been happening quite recently, say in the last four or five months. Previously it was fairly stable with very little change in download speeds at any time.
