Re: [LUG] PI and time lapse photography

Hi Richard,

The stepper motor rig will have to able to carry itself (obvious I know but
surprisingly often overlooked) plus the motor controller and the power source. I n
this case I would use a small-ish motorcycle battery and an good power circuit
(could be banged up on vero board simply) based around a couple of 7505 voltage
controllers. This is because they supply a maximum of 1 Amp power which may not be
enough for the peak drain (when motor movement is initiated). A good source to start
your research would be any of: Farnell, RS, or at a push Maplins.

Hope this helps you,

Fin

Hi Edward

One of the biggest reason is no electricity. I know the pi can run on batteries so
I'm hoping that I can pick up a camera that will run on batteries and can control
the pi. But what about the hardware rig please. Will this run on batteries and where
do I go looking please?
