I have carefully read all the replies and quite scary some of the have been. So, as I have mentioned before, I am planning very soon to upgrade to a newer distro. (It will be a fresh install.) So now would be the perfect time to make myself a bit safer in the internet. I use my computer at home, emails, a bit of browsing, no games, no Facebook or the like. Possibly a typical home user. So it would be very helpful, I suggest, if one or more of our obviously knowledgeable members could give the rest of us some advice about a minimum security set up. After reading all of the posts to this thread I am feeling somewhat overwhelmed by it all, a bit lost in the wilderness. And a lot of the advice seems to refer to people who need much more security than I do. Or am I asking for too much?
