Have you ever priced a 10mb dedicated to a site that is 10km from the

Yes, I have.

And...? I stopped listening when the salesman got to £80,000

Last one I looked at for an office in Dartmoor was in the region of £3K install for a 100Mbps bearer. The place is currently served of the Poundsgate exchange and get 512Kb/sec on ADSL.

There are issues when you are far from the main fibre runs - and I accept that - and then just say no to potential clients when they won't cought up the dough. Really - it's not worth my time and effort anymore. 2Mb leased line still exist though on copper and bundling is possible - with a co-operating ISP.

And it's also possible you need to start talking to an ISP who specialises in leased line provision than someone like e.g. BT.

it would still be a fairly hard sell on a cost basis.

You think so? For an office of 10+ people? So on-top of the oversell that BT, etc. have apready applied to the ADSL network, you're just overselling it by another factor of 10? How much is that client paying per month for the office rental, salary, cars, etc. is another grand a month on-top of that really going to break the company? If so, then run away - they're a bunch of cheap-skates who won't last.

My opinion anyway.
