Here are the relevant lines from lsusb Bus 001 Device 003: ID 046d:081b Logitech, Inc. Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub When I am running VBox and look at Devices --> USB it reports the ID correctly but says Unknown Device. So it sees the webcam on the USB port but does not recognise is as a webcam. Or so it seems to me.
