I stand corrected :-)

That is useful, might try that myself when I next upgrade. In the past I've just been reinstalling and installing as and when I needed a package (sometimes I install something to check it out then forget to remove it).

Does popcon actually check that you're used a package, or that it's just been installed?

It seems to use the last accessed flag(???) to date when something was last used - seemed to give 'reasonable' results for my machine
