We may be slightly different in that we are a registered charity with
turnover ~Â100k pa, so need to make our annual returns to Charity
Commission on an accruals basis under SORP.

Our accountant has Gnucash installed and takes a copy of the data file -
it means she can do all the trial balance stuff, produce balance sheets
etc in Gnucash to transfer to the standard SORP reporting forms.

Golden rule is probably not to go for anything more complex than you
need. On the other hand, I do check the accounts of our local church,
and they probably could benefit from Gnucash as they have assets,
restricted funds to track etc.
