True. This is the big problem. So many times when I try to talk to
people about Linux, or even open source generally. I get the reply
'Never heard of it'. And this is often from eg business people who
should know better. By which I mean they should be taking the trouble to
look around to see if they could be doing things better.

Just my opinion,

To be fair small businesses who don't have an IT department might not be that clued up on IT to investigate alternatives, or not have the time. They would probably go to an IT provider of some sort and quite a lot of these IT providers (both small and large) tend to just offer Microsoft solutions.

So maybe we should be talking to the IT companies and asking them about why they're not promoting FLOSS?
