I used to have a subscription to Computer Shopper but I jacked it in a couple of years ago. I think they are undoubtedly the best mag for hardware tests but I got fed up of their sofware howto's. They always had things like 'How to manage your photos in (insert current Windows application)'. I always thought that if they had done a half page addition saying how to do the same thing in Linux software the magazine would have been great at small extra cost. To my shame I never wrote to them about it. It's Linux Format only now.
