The biggest issue that lug.org.uk has had is people who report
mailing list posts that they asked for as spam, and people who use
services like Spamcop as an all-or-nothing indicator of whether to
accept the email. The combination of the two is unfortunate as
Spamcop will list on a single unverified report.

Even the worst abuses of top posting, replying to entire digests with
a single word, and so on, are not really noticeable traffic-wise.
Posing of large images and other binary attachments occasionally is,
if you look for it, but most lists seem to quite effectively
self-moderate in these outrageous cases.

The default size limit in Mailman is 40KiB. There are also fairly
good attachment type filters in Mailman which can be turned on if
desired.
