It still always refuses me access till I use User Agent switcher.

So clearly they are checking the User Agent string, and different
varieties of FF may send different strings. In my case I'm guessing it
says Iceweasel on Debian.

I believe NatWest online banking is different for retail and business.

As far as I can tell NatWest retail banking doesn't use anything too
stupid, and should work with any browser aside from the User Agent check.

I can understand checking the User Agent string for out of date systems,
but if you are going to whitelist like this it behoves them to pull
their finger out and keep up to date on what browsers are out there,
rather than push the problem onto their customers.

Ultimately no doubt it is customers responsibility to ensure their PC is
secure, so probably wiser to do no checks, or provide some sort of
warning, rather than outright refuse unknown browsers.
