There does seem to be a strong Ubuntu contingent here though! I have Debian on my Acer Aspire One and wifeys AAO, my Acer Aspire 5050, my workstation(s) and all my servers scattered throughout Devon, Bristol and Sheffield... It's also used to 'bootstrap' the code for my 'embedded' PBXs... Most things seem to work on it - you shouldn't have any more issues with it than must other distributions regarding media playing (the usual DVD malarky). Email - claws, thunderbird, evolution; web - firefox; photo stuff - gimp; rdp - there's gnome-rdp and xrdp, never used them myself, and so on...
