I think I'm going to invest in a few timer sockets and maybe some remote control sockets too (for those hard to get to sockets behind the telly). Then in theory I should be able to turn the games consoles and set top boxes off easily when I'm not using them and turn things like my wireless access points off over night (luckily my new BT home hub will turn it's wireless off over night, no use leaving it on overnight, at least not until I can get a wifi brain implant so I can browse the internet in my head while I'm asleep).
