Re: [LUG] Hard drive problems

Heat's another HDD Killer.

If you have the drives in some form of Noise Suppression box then that could be causing the problem or perhaps your internal temperature is too hot? Are your fans ok?

I do agree though 3 HDD in a year is quite a lot (I've had many a machine die on me but the HDD has always lived on).

Regards,
Dave.

Possibly your PSU is providing too much voltage to the Hard Drive? If you are on a laptop, do you bash it around a lot? I've got to say I have never heard of someone getting through 3 HDD's in a year. That does seem a little too much bad luck. A motherboard problem seems unlikely to cause HDD damage, but I guess it could do.

Don't think i've really helped, but I feel for you.

Hi
This may be a bit off topic, but I seem to be getting through a lot of hard drives recently (3 in the last year).  Could there be something wrong with
the motherboard, with the way I am using the machine or am I just unlucky.
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest and any forthcoming advice
Aaron
