Since you're looking at skinny WMs, have you tried Sawfish?  Many
people will try and tell you that Sawfish is *supposed* to be used as a
WM under Gnome (ie instead of Metacity, or whatever), but it does
pretty bloomin' well on its own.  Give it a shot. :)
