Interesting article for all the server administrators out there (and probably anyone else). http://it.toolbox.com/blogs/locutus/the-end-of-physical-reboots-with-linux-27137 Use kexec to update the kernel (or just change it to a different one) without having to physically reboot the system. All applications and connections will be closed, but they'll start back up a lot quicker than a server boot would take (only really important if you're either an uptime junkie, or second matter to your business.)
