OK this phrame thing doesn't sound wonderful and I'd probably opt out
(though the opt in option is probably better) but it really isn't the
end of democracy as we know it and the advent of the jack boot coming
down on humanities head for eternity etc.......

As I understand it the data is anonymous, but I wouldn't care if I
received targeted ads on the basis of my surfing. Anyone who wants it
can have my surf profile, lucky them! I wouldn't see most of the ads as
I have ad block installed anyhow, but rather an ad for new gizmo's than
Jeffrey Archer Bound Sets.

If it results in spam that's a whole different game of balls. However
that is actually illegal. And the banks aren't safe and people who loose
money gambling are just paying stupidity tax. (So are the banks, but the
reason governments tend to prop them up is because lots of "little men"
(no women?) will loose their livings if banks go bust or can't trust
each other to make loans).

So rather than crying wolf wait until something worthy of this level of
hysteria is proposed.

Rant over!
