I agree,  however having been involved in lug for about 8 years,  i 
think these traits, exist among lug members,  we are all beginners at 
one time,  ok people may get directed to google on  occasion,  but there 
are reasons for that, e.g try and get users to look up information for 
them selves,  (which is what teachers want students to be able to do, 
learn independently)   The list is a place where anyone can post a 
request for help and usually get an answer, or at least be pointed in 
the direction of help.   I think the same can be said for most OSS forums

try that with windows support and you will probably get a response that 
involves handing over money partly as the issue can't be solved in the 
same way it can under Linux or other free software.
