$ apt-cache show icedove Shows it depending on "myspell-en-us | myspell-dictionary" So I'd suggest; # apt-get install myspell-en-gb I think this is system integration work to make life easier, clearly it works if you are an American ;) If you use OpenOffice with Debian, you should get the relevant MySpell dictionary for your locale as well. So it seems you should have got a relevant dictionary during installation (you did say you were Great Britain, or needed Great British locale?). Anyone installing Debian for the desktop soon, could they check it does pick this up automatically and file a wishlist bug if it doesn't. -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/linux_adm/list-faq.html
