Not much wrong with that - except the additional disc space
requirements. Those who need a smaller footprint have lots of other
options. Those who want a frivolous waste of hard disc can choose KDE.

Mono is not part of .Net, it is a free equivalent and may well be
substantially behind the latest MS "features" because these have to be
implemented in Mono. Quite whether those missing "features" are
actually a problem will depend on your opinion of the C# language.

Definitely.

Now if Mono can move to GPL3, Mono in Gnome will actually be a powerful
lever *against* the interests of proponents of software patents like MS.
