It might be. I've stopped trying to keep up. I like my windows
un-wobbly, thanks. :)

We all do. Indeed, I filed a bug in Ubuntu about the garishness of the defaults in Beryl. I do like the cubes, shadows, subtle blurred transparencies etc as demonstrated by Apple though.
