If you need "etch" packages, use Ubuntu dapper. The dapper "Universe" packages are "etch" packages with a little sanity checking. Btw, I find Trac excellent for browsing Subversion repositories. It also has a good integrated BTS and Wiki that I've applied to projects large and small.
