No explanation at all. When I eventually managed to speak to someone they explained that they (The AA) had a policy of disconnecting a call if there were too many people in the queue already, that way any new callers would not be hanging on the line for hours. Unfortunately they had ommited to put such a notice in their recorded message at the time.
